Donald Trump is a prominent American businessman and politician who served as the 45th President of the United States from January 2017 to January 2021. Before his presidency, Trump was best known for his career in real estate and his role as the host of the reality television show “The Apprentice.”

Trump was born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York City. He took over his family’s real estate business in 1971, which he renamed The Trump Organization. Under his leadership, the company expanded from residential real estate into various high-profile ventures, including office buildings, hotels, and casinos.

In 2016, Trump ran for president as the Republican nominee and won a surprise victory against Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. His presidency was marked by significant policy changes, including tax cuts, deregulation efforts, and a focus on trade reforms such as renegotiating NAFTA into the USMCA. His administration also emphasized a strict immigration policy and appointed three justices to the Supreme Court.

Trump’s presidency was highly polarizing, with strong supporters and vocal critics. His tenure saw several major events, including the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, impeachment proceedings in 2019 and 2021, and the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. His handling of the pandemic and response to the 2020 presidential election, which he contested, contributed to widespread controversy.

After losing the 2020 election to Joe Biden, Trump continued to influence American politics and the Republican Party, often promoting his views and suggesting the election was fraudulent, which led to significant debates and legal challenges. In 2023, he announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election.
