Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump is facing a significant approval deficit, with 66% of Americans saying they disapprove of his job performance, according to a new national poll by the American Research Group (ARG).
The survey, conducted among 1,100 American adults from August 15 to 19, 2026, found that only 30% approve of the way Trump is handling his job. Around 4% remain undecided. The poll has a margin of error of approximately ±3 percentage points. (CartaCapital)
The figures leave Trump with a net approval rating of -36 percentage points, highlighting the gap between his supporters and those dissatisfied with his performance.
