Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow

The ever-expanding universe of crazy-done Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow) is a disservice; on this point, the fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe can come to a universal agreement. This is the only point on which they can agree.

It is frustrating that the powerful Avengers have ignored the character’s tale for a long time. And when audiences eventually got their hands on Black Widow’s long-awaited solo movie, it fell short of expectations due to the length of time that fans had to wait for it.

As a result, when the actress dropped hints that she was through with playing superheroes for good, nobody was able to fault her decision. Soon after, the legendary actor Anthony Hopkins followed her example and spoke about how playing Odin on film sometimes made him feel like he was doing something worthless.

Therefore, in an interview with The New Yorker, Anthony Hopkins revealed all that occurred behind the scenes of the Marvel movies, further demonstrating why some individuals could contemplate abandoning the ship.

After the first read of his screenplay, two-time Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins, now a member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, marked it with the initials N.A.R., which stands for “no acting required.” The illustrious career that the 83-year-old has maintained for more than half a century has allowed him to perfect his trade in an unparalleled manner.

Therefore, by the time the chance to play Odin presented itself, he had already given up for a considerable amount of time. As a result, it gave him a rekindled feeling of optimism. The actor claims that, besides the financial rewards, the Marvel movies allow many performers to maintain their relatability.

Therefore, even a meaningless position like Odin assisted him in surviving a period that he considered challenging. Hopkins made these statements in an interview with The New Yorker:

Even though playing the legendary character of the King of Asgard made him known to a whole new generation of people familiar with his work, he was not allowed to further develop his craft as an actor because of the role. Consequently, despite participating in three high-budget Thor films, he has given the impression that he will not be returning to the series in the years to come. ~ Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow
