लोकसभा चुनावों में सपा को कब कितनी सीटें मिलीं!

Samajwadi Party Lok Sabha Election History ~1996 लोकसभा चुनाव:
समाजवादी पार्टी की स्थापना सन 1992 में हुई. मुलायम सिंह यादव के नेतृत्व में बनी इस क्षेत्रीय पार्टी ने 1993 के उत्तर प्रदेश विधानसभा चुनाव में शानदार कामयाबी हासिल की. सपा ने बसपा के साथ मिलकर भाजपा को शिकस्त दी और मुलायम सिंह यादव मुख्यमंत्री चुने गए. 1996 में जब पार्टी ने अपना पहला लोकसभा चुनाव लड़ा तो इसमें भी उसने शानदार सफलता हासिल की. मुख्यतः उत्तर प्रदेश तक सीमित इस पार्टी ने लोकसभा चुनाव में 17 सीटें जीतीं।

1998 लोकसभा चुनाव:
1998 के लोकसभा चुनाव में सपा ने अपनी सीटों की संख्या बढ़ाकर 26 कर ली।

1999 लोकसभा चुनाव:
1999 के चुनावों में समाजवादी पार्टी के प्रदर्शन में गिरावट देखी गई और उसे 20 सीटें हासिल हुईं।

2004 लोकसभा चुनाव:
2004 के चुनावों में पार्टी के प्रदर्शन में सुधार हुआ, जहां उसने 36 सीटें जीतीं।

2009 लोकसभा चुनाव:
2009 के लोकसभा चुनाव में समाजवादी पार्टी 23 सीटें हासिल करने में कामयाब रही.

2014 लोकसभा चुनाव:
पार्टी बनने के बाद से ऐसा पहली बार था कि सपा चुनाव मुलायम सिंह यादव के नाम पर नहीं बल्कि उनके बेटे और तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री अखिलेश यादव के चेहरे पर लड़ रही थी. राजनीति को विकास के मॉडल पर देखने वाले अखिलेश को अंदाज़ा न था कि चुनाव में जातिगत समीकरण और दाँव पेंच भी बहुत महत्वपूर्ण होते हैं. इसी का नतीजा था कि सपा के खाते में महज़ 5 सीटें आयीं.

2019 लोकसभा चुनाव:
2019 के लोकसभा चुनाव में समाजवादी पार्टी ने उत्तर प्रदेश में बहुजन समाज पार्टी (बसपा) के साथ गठबंधन किया। गठबंधन के बावजूद, सपा केवल 5 सीटें हासिल कर सकी, जबकि उसकी गठबंधन सहयोगी बसपा ने 10 सीटें जीतीं। कुछ जानकार मानते हैं कि सपा ने बसपा से गठबंधन करके निर्णय सही लिया था लेकिन बसपा प्रमुख मायावती ने चुनाव में उस प्रकार प्रचार नहीं किया जैसे उन्हें करना चाहिए था. जानकार ये भी कहते हैं कि सपा ने बसपा को मन-मुताबिक़ सीटें दे दीं, इसी का नतीजा रहा कि सपा के खाते में बसपा से आधी सीटें ही आयीं. इस चुनाव में बीजेपी ने 80 में से 62 सीटें जीतकर राज्य में दबदबा क़ायम रखा.

यहाँ एक बात नोट करने की है कि समाजवादी पार्टी का मुख्य जनाधार उत्तर प्रदेश में है और अब तक के चुनाव में सपा ने उत्तर प्रदेश में ही लोकसभा सीटें जीती हैं.

1996 Lok Sabha Elections:
Samajwadi Party was established in 1992. This regional party formed under the leadership of Mulayam Singh Yadav achieved spectacular success in the 1993 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. SP along with BSP defeated BJP and Mulayam Singh Yadav was elected Chief Minister. When the party contested its first Lok Sabha elections in 1996, it achieved resounding success in this also. This party, mainly limited to Uttar Pradesh, won 17 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.

1998 Lok Sabha Elections:
In the 1998 Lok Sabha elections, the SP increased its seat tally to 26.

1999 Lok Sabha Elections:
The Samajwadi Party saw a decline in its performance in the 1999 elections, securing 20 seats.

2004 Lok Sabha Elections:
The party’s performance improved in the 2004 elections, where it won 36 seats.

2009 Lok Sabha Elections:
In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, the Samajwadi Party managed to secure 23 seats.

2014 Lok Sabha Elections:
This was the first time since the formation of the party that SP was fighting the elections not in the name of Mulayam Singh Yadav but in the face of his son and the then Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Akhilesh, who saw politics on the model of development, had no idea that caste equations and tricks are also very important in elections. The result of this was that SP got only 5 seats.

2019 Lok Sabha Elections:
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Samajwadi Party formed an alliance with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in Uttar Pradesh. Despite the alliance, SP could secure only 5 seats, while its alliance partner BSP won 10 seats. Some experts believe that SP had taken the right decision by forging alliance with BSP but BSP chief Mayawati did not campaign in the elections the way she should have. Experts also say that SP gave seats to BSP as per its wish, the result was that SP got only half the seats of BSP. In this election, BJP maintained its dominance in the state by winning 62 out of 80 seats.

One thing to be noted here is that the main support base of Samajwadi Party is in Uttar Pradesh and in the elections so far, SP has won Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh only.
