On the occasion of Father’s Day, Dawood said that she and her daughter, Alina, had hugged and joked with her husband and son before they boarded the submersible called the Titan.
She also said that since her child’s Rubik’s Cube was one of his favorite things to do, he brought it along with him on the dive.

Dawood said that their presence is missed. “I profoundly and profoundly miss them.”
In contradiction to what Suleman Dawood has said, his aunt Azmeh Dawood told NBC News on Thursday that the child was “terrified” when he joined his father on the tour of the Titanic’s wreck.
According to Shahzada Dawood’s aunt, who is his older sister, her nephew “wasn’t very up for it” but went on the trip nevertheless to make his father happy. Dawood said, “I’m going to solve the Rubik’s Cube at the Titanic 3,700 meters below the surface,” he explained his plan.
She revealed to NBC that after moving to Amsterdam from England some years earlier, she had lost communication with her brother but still felt a close connection to her nephew.
Shahzada and Suleman Dawood were lost when the Titan sank less than two hours into its dive into the Titanic on June 18. Along with two other passengers and a pilot, they had been aboard the Titan when it went down.
On Thursday, authorities uncovered debris associated with Titan on the ocean floor at a depth of around 13,000 feet. At that time, they officially proclaimed them dead while the investigation continued. According to the United States Coast Guard, the explosion in the submersible was caused by a “catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber.”
At such depth, any breakdown of the hull would have resulted in the immediate death of all five people.
Hamish Harding, a millionaire from the United Kingdom, Paul-Henri Nargeolet, an experienced navy diver from France, and Stockton Rush, the chief executive officer of the company that arranges tours in the submersible, were the other three persons that were on board.
Meanwhile, authorities are investigating the Polar Prince to see if or not a criminal investigation into the explosion is necessary. Even though there is “no suspicion of criminal activity” at this time, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police indicated on Saturday that it could not be entirely ruled out that illegal activity is taking place.
