She sent a message on Instagram, saying, “It’s crucial for me to explain that I never chose this. I stood up for what I believed to be correct, and as a result, the life that I had known was obliterated. The shaming I’ve received on social media is a magnified version of how women are re-victimized when they come out with their experiences.

“Now I finally have the chance to free myself from something I tried to get away from more than six years ago, and on conditions that I can agree to. I have made no admission. This in no way constitutes a compromise on our part. Going forward, there are no limitations or gag orders placed on my ability to use my voice,” she said.

In her discussion of the settlement amount, Ms. Heard said it is not unusual for a person to be threatened with “bankruptcy” for telling the truth. “I am not in a position to take the chance of being saddled with an impossible bill, one that is not only monetary in nature but also psychological, physical, and emotional.” For speaking her truth, a woman shouldn’t have to risk being abused or becoming bankrupt, but sadly this happens all too often,” she said.

On the other side, Ms. Heard has said that she loves Spain and “hopes to” remain in the capital city of Madrid after moving there after the trial. Mr. Depp was recently seen at the Cannes Film Festival, where he was promoting his newest film, “Jeanne Du Barry.” ~ Amber Heard Paid $1 Million
