Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reached a settlement in their contentious divorce battle, bringing an end to a legal saga that has spanned eight years.

Jolie, 49, and Pitt, 61, came to an agreement, her lawyer revealed Monday night, allowing the actress to move forward.

“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,” Jolie’s lawyer, James Simon, stated.

“This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over,” Simon continued.

A source close to the matter shared, “[Jolie] doesn’t speak ill of him publicly or privately. She’s been trying hard to be light after a dark time.”

The former couple had been embroiled in disputes over child custody, dividing assets, and the sale of their French winery since Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt, which led to numerous accusations.

Though the divorce proceedings are settled, the two still have a court case tied to their French vineyard, Château Miraval. Pitt filed a lawsuit against Jolie after she sold her 50% stake in the vineyard, claiming she was supposed to offer it to him first as per their agreement. Jolie argued that she did not sell to Pitt because he wanted her to sign a non-disclosure agreement to cover up alleged past bad behavior.

Jolie and Pitt met on the set of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” in 2005 and quickly became the “it” couple, famously dubbed “Brangelina.” They married in 2014 and share six children, three biological (including twins) and three adopted.

Now, with the divorce settled, Jolie hopes to focus on healing and moving forward, leaving behind a tumultuous chapter in her life.
